University of Salford Services Available
In addition to the undergraduate and post-graduate courses available to study we offer a range of services to business. From specific bespoke training to high level technical consultancy through to networking opportunities and student / graduate placements.
Short Courses
We have a wide range of short courses for businesses and individuals wishing to develop their skills in their chosen field. Courses are often flexible and can be delivered on a company’s own premises. An up-to-date list can be found at www.ae.salford.ac.uk
Business Training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Each Faculty within the University can offer bespoke training and CPD courses. The Enterprise Academy offers training aimed at business start-ups (www.ae.salford.ac.uk) and our women in business network W:ISE offers workshops and networking opportunities (www.wise4women.co.uk). The University also has an Institute of Directors Hub offering bespoke training to company directors (www.business.salford.ac.uk/iod ).
Business Networking
CAMPUS is the University’s business network which has been established for over 25years. It offers networking opportunities with private members, the University, the community and business members (B2B). More details can be found at www.campus.salford.ac.uk. W:ISE, referred to in the previous section, is the University’s women in business network and offers networking with other women entrepreneurs. Please visit www.wise4women.co.uk.
Also Chapel Street Business Group (www.chapelstreet.org) is a network for businesses along Chapel Street and throughout Salford which provides a variety of services for businesses and facilitates networks between local people, organisations and key decision makers. The Chapel Street Business Group are organising the Salford Business Awards (www.salfordbusinessawards.co.uk) which take place in April.

Student / Graduate Placements
The University’s Careers Service can help your recruitment needs by providing access to suitable students and graduates across the North West for vacation work, industrial placements / internships and graduate vacancies. Further details are available at www.careers.salford.ac.uk.
We also offer the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Scheme which engages academic experts with innovative businesses through the placement of a graduate for a specific project to drive strategic development within the business. Find out more at www.ktp.salford.ac.uk.
Consultancy

Website Development
Enterprise and Development Interactive (EDi) is the University’s interactive media and web development group which has a dedicated team providing quality, cost effective services to the business sector, the community and the public sector both locally and nationally. Export
Passport to Trade is a free online guide designed by the University to give advice on all aspects of foreign business culture, communication and etiquette in 25 European Union countries.
