About Us
Innovation Forum
The Innovation Forum was financed by £9.6m of public sector funding, through a combined partnership of the North West Development Agency, European Regional Development Fund and the Charlestown and Lower Kersal New Deal for Communities. The Innovation Forum project has been delivered by Salford City Council and the University of Salford.
The Innovation Forum is an excellent managed office location for growing businesses which need a presence close by Manchester City Centre. It offers the ideal combination of access to the centre of Manchester, modern managed offices in a supportive business environment and secure low cost parking.
This combination represents a most attractive proposition for new start businesses and also established businesses looking for a North West regional office base.
Salford Innovation Park
The Innovation Forum is located on the Salford Innovation Park. This is a business community with over 160,000 sq. ft. of work space. The work space includes offices and technology development units. The Salford Innovation Park is especially attractive to companies in the digital media, creative and cultural industries together with science and technology based start-ups.
The Salford Innovation Park has three components:-
- Innovation Forum - managed office space for high growth businesses.
- Technology House – a fully serviced office facility.
- Salford University Business Park – an estate of single and two storey office buildings.
Salford Innovation Park is a highly supportive business environment which cements relationships between the University of Salford, the local community and businesses. This venture brings together key organisations working towards a shared vision to invest in the future of the City of Salford and its residents by encouraging prosperity from the grass roots upwards. The goal is to maximise innovation and interaction and to act as a catalyst for the regeneration of the wider Salford area.
Innovation Forum - Design
Accommodating Business Growth
The Innovation Forum has been designed to facilitate business growth and tenants can move through a range of office sizes as their requirements change.
Forum Inspired
Within the building, walkways and circulation spaces have been designed to maximise the opportunities for interaction. Informal meeting areas have been provided to allow people to sit and discuss ideas. The provision of informal and communal discussion facilities was a fundamental design objective of the complex.
Sustainability
Sustainability was a key consideration of the Innovation Forum concept. A comprehensive view has been taken of the building’s environmental impacts in its design, construction and throughout its life. The prime measure of a building’s environmental impact is the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating. The Innovation Forum has been awarded a ‘very good’ rating.
Several sustainable transport options are available to tenants and visitors. For public transport, Salford Crescent train station is a short walk away and a bus stop is close by. There is motorcycle parking and also caged bicycle parking. Shower and changing facilities are available in the Innovation Forum.
